GOLDEN VISA by SCHWEIZ GROUP
The Golden Visa in Spain (or the residence visa for investors) is a temporary residence permit granted to a person not from the European Union (EU), and their family, for the acquisition of real estate of a value equal to, or greater than, 500,000 euros in Spain.
After purchasing real estate property for at least €500,000, you will automatically receive a multiple-entry initial Golden Visa, which is valid for one year. Within that year, you must go to Spain in person to apply for the two-year initial residence permit, on the condition that your investment is still in place. The maximum duration of the residency permit is 5 years. After this period, investors can apply for permanent residency in Spain.
The main requirement for Spanish citizenship by residency is to have been living in Spain for ten years with Spanish residence. During this time, you must not have travelled abroad for long periods of time. This is usually defined as more than three months, so short holidays and work trips are allowed.
The main advantages of obtaining the Golden Visa in Spain are:
- Spain allows dual citizenship.
- Free travel through the Schengen Area/European Union.
- Access to permanent residence and/or citizenship.
- Your family will get the same rights in the country if you are a solo investor.
The Spanish Golden Visa comes with the following benefits:
- The lack of need to be permanently in the country and the relatively low cost of renewal. You can renew the golden visa indefinitely as long as the investment is maintained. For this purpose, it is necessary to enter the territory of Spain at least once a year.
- The speed at which a residence permit is issued. You can get a residence permit in Spain once you have received a golden visa. The residence permit is valid for 2 years and can be renewed as long as you have or maintain the investment you have made.
- Get a second legal passport. If you already have Spanish residency, you can get citizenship. As a rule, you must have resided in Spain for 10 years. An exception is made for Latin Americans, for whom a residence of 2 years is required.
In order to acquire the Golden Visa for Spain, it is possible to choose between different investment solutions:

- In the purchase of real estate valued at no less than €500,000.
